Whether its connecting a long livebait trace direct to your topshot or using them as quick connector via a coastlock swivel there are many uses. Also a great option as a connection from leader to casting lures when used with a split ring between lure and the metal ring.
 
Two sizes available and both have breaking strains in excess of 650lbs on the metal rings
 
11mm Ring  - grommet accepts mono upto 1.5mm in diameter  
13mm Ring  - grommet accepts mono upto 2.5mm in diameter
